Château Mouton-Rothschild--Vintage 1988
Pauillac, 1er cru classé
Very good appearance and levels
Tasting note: Most recently: fairly deep, plummy coloured; sweet, rather rustic nose, good extract and fruit. An hour after decanting, a whiff of charred tar and mocha, opening up better later that evening. Touch of sweetness, perfect weight (12.5 alcohol), full of fruit, good length and sustaining tannin and acidity. Could do with more time. Michael Broadbent M.W., Apr 2006
