A word on the vintage: After a very damp winter and very mild temperatures, budding was early. The grapevines flowered well and uniformly on the normal dates. The summer was alternately warm and cloudy until the harvest - July rather cool, August rather warm and September cool again with some rain. Maturity was not uniform and the harvest took place in very good conditions.
It has intense aromas of black fruit on the nose. It is somewhat less opulent than its older 2000 brother, but nonetheless elegant and harmonious, with powerful and ripe tannins, a pure fruity aroma and a satisfying finish.
