A skull, an hour glass, a shield with books and papers on a partly draped table

The present composition relates to the still life by Gijsbrechts in the Musée des Beaux-Arts, Rennes, where several elements of the composition are repeated. The attribution has been confirmed by Fred Meijer of the RKD, The Hague.
