A Lacquer Kazaridana [Display Cabinet]
Meiji Period (late 19th century)
Finely decorated in gold and silver hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, togidashi-e and hirame with open fans on a black ground with landscape scenes surrounded by flowers and grasses, the hinged doors with a pavillion and carriage in a garden, the drawers similarly decorated with maple and pine trees, bordered by geometric designs, silver fittings engraved with stylised chrysanthemums
