A clock of the same composition, though with Cupid holding a ewer which Venus uses to wash (now lacking in the present example) is illustrated in H. Ottomeyer, P. Pröschel et. al., Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, vol. I, p. 245, fig. 4.6.5 (Berlin, Private Collection).
