A PAIR OF LARGE GEORGE III SILVER CANDLESTICKS
MARK OF THOMAS HEMING, LONDON, 1757
Each on square gadrooned base, the facetted stems with gadrooned knops, terminating in spool-shaped sockets with detachable square nozzles, the bases engraved with a coat-of-arms, the nozzles engraved with a crest, each marked under base, on socket and nozzle, the sockets and nozzles each marked with a later French tax mark, further engraved underneath with inventory numbers and scratchweights 'N 2 33=10' and 'N 3 33=8', the nozzles with with inventory numbers 'No 1' and 'No 4'
12 in. (30.5 cm.) high
65 oz. 7 dwt. (2,033 gr.)
The arms are those of Watson of Stratford, Gloucestershire. (2)
