Brown morocco gilt, spine in 3 compartments with 2 raised bands, gilt lettered in one, floral and leaf design in one, turn-ins gilt, green reversed calf doublures and endpapers, top edges gilt, others uncut (some hinges lightly rubbed).

LIMITED EDITION, number 3 of 250 sets of the "Joseph Jefferson Edition," SIGNED BY JOSEPH JEFFERSON. Jefferson (1829-1905), an actor who adapted a dramatic version of Washington Irving's Rip Van Winkle, spent 40 years depicting the title character in his show throughout the United States, Australia, and England.
