Château Mouton-Rothschild--Vintage 1986
Pauillac, 1er cru classé
Levels: bottom neck or better
"The '86 Mouton was an immense wine. On the nose it was very exotic, with ripe blackberry and cassis notes, but also a strong suggestion of wood smoke, leather, savory roast meat aromas and an undercurrent of dark chocolate. On the palate the wine was powerful and structured in a way that the '82 has never been. Firm tannins, full body and a dense, compact texture make this a spectacular wine."
