A LONGQUAN CELADON SHRINE OF GUANYIN
MING DYNASTY, 14TH/15TH CENTURY
The bodhisattva is seated on a dais with palms folded in her lap and eyes downcast wearing a crown and long flowing robes open at the biscuit chest to reveal a necklace, she is flanked by two attendants standing on a rocky platform above a lotus pond, the arched shrine is pierced in places and embellished with cloud scrolls, birds, and two shelves supporting a vase and books, the reverse has three circular glazed apertures.
