QING DYNASTY (1644-1911), 19TH CENTURY
the Chao Fu skirt embroidered with a gilt metal dragon above a sea wave border, surmounted by nine dragon roundels, to a black silk ground; the apron skirts embroidered in coloured silks with chrysanthemums, flowers and insects, the first worked in 'three blues' coloured silks to a black ground woven with flowers and auspicious symbols, the second of jade green silk gauze and the third of navy blue silk gauze (4)
