Ovular, centring an oval aperture within laurel leaf border and surmounted by a ribbon crest, enclosing a photograph of Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone (1883-1981) and Prince Charles Edward, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1884-1954), the only children of TRH The Duke and Duchess of Albany, the back with wooden strut, marked on aperture
6 in. (15.2 cm.) high

From the collection at Kensington Palace of HRH The Duchess of Albany (1861-1922), née Princess Helena of Waldeck and Pyrmont, wife of Prince Leopold Duke of Albany (1853-1884), fourth son of HM Queen Victoria.
Presented to the present owner by the granddaughter of the Duchess.
