The cylindrical cup painted en grisaille with a portrait of Emperor Alexander I, within a rectangular gilt border with cut corners, flanked by gilt palmettes on a blue ground, rosettes and scrolling foliage, with upswept scroll handle, the interior rim gilt; the saucer similarly decorated, with white ground centring a gilt rosette, marked under bases with blue underglaze factory marks, the saucer with impressed '74' on base (2)
