The wide shallow bowl decorated overall with a crackled cream glaze falling short in places around the ring foot, the interior with five areas unglazed from stacking during firing, gold lacquer repair, fitted wood box with a poem by Okada Settai, brocade bag

Lot Essay

Okada Settai (1799-1868) was the adoptive son of Lord Matsudaira Fumai.
