Each originally a cylindrical pomade-pot and cover now mounted with a pierced gallery at the mouth, scroll handles, a fluted socle foot and canted square base; painted after Boucher with amorous pastoral scenes, the reverse in the style of Armand l'aîné with birds in landscapes, each scene reserved on the bright turquoise-ground within gilt rococo surrounds of diaper pattern and foliate scrolls, the interior of each with a small oval paper label inscribed in ink '27444', the cover similarly painted with two shaped oval cartouches of birds
