AN UNDERGLAZE-BLUE GROUND YELLOW-ENAMELLED 'DRAGON' DISH
QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
The dish is finely potted with shallow rounded sides flaring to the everted mouth rim, the interior is painted with an ascending five-clawed dragon in pursuit of a 'flaming pearl' amidst flames and ruyi clouds surrounded by a pair of striding dragons in the cavetto. The exterior is similarly decorated with dragons above a band of lotus lappets encircling the foot ring.
