A FINE WHITE JADE BOWL
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The bowl is of shallow rounded form, with slightly curved sides rising from the short foot to an everted rim, well carved with a poem including the cyclical Renwu date, 1775, and the seal Bide, 'Equal to virtue'. The base is incised with the mark Qianlong yuwan, 'For the Imperial enjoyment of the Qianlong Emperor'. The semi-translucent stone is of an even white tone.
5 5/8 in. (14.4 cm.) diam.
