A LARGE RETICULATED CELADON JADE PARFUMIER WITH SPINACH JADE STOPPER
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
Of square section with rounded corners, the white jade cylinder is carved with five Daoist Immortals in a mountainous landscape, walking on trails or admiring a scroll, the two attendants carrying double gourds, all within a pierced ground with pavilions amid overhanging rocks and springs, gnarled pines, wutong and prunus. The spinach jade cover is carved with reticulated floral sprays, while the base is plain, both with an edge decorated with a keyfret border.
