A RARE IRON-RED DECORATED STEM BOWL
JIAQING IRON-RED SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1796-1820)
The shallow rounded sides rise to a slightly flared rim and supported on a high splayed foot. The exterior is painted in shades of iron-red with bats amidst peaches and scrolling lotus. The interior is decorated with a medallion with the 'Three Abundances', Sanduo, enclosed within floral scrolls. The ridged foot is decorated with beads and festoons.
7 1/4 in. (18.5 cm.) diam.

An identical example from the Weishaupt Collection was included in the exhibition From the Dragon's Treasure: Chinese Porcelain from the 19th & 20th century in the Weishaupt Collection, Museum fur Kunsthandwerk, Frankfurt and Berlin, 1987, Catalogue, London, no. 7; and was sold at Sotheby's Amsterdam, 16 October 1995, lot 184.
