With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with matte black dial and applied hour makers in yellow gold and tritium in 1982 and its subsequent sale on 17 November 1982.

Fresh to the market, the present watch is one of only 10 examples with a two-tone stainless steel and gold case to have come up for auction to date.

The celebrated Nautilus reference 3700/11 was launched in 1976 and remained in production until 1986. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 231.
