Volume II only in 2 parts, 2° (510 x 325mm). Text in French, mounted on guards throughout. Individual index leaves to each part. Engraved architectural title-pages with letterpress overslips, 88 (only, of 92) double-page engraved maps of France, Spain, Asia and the Americas, one folding, all coloured by a contemporary hand. (Lacking 4 French maps Van der Krogt nos. 4-7, short marginal tears to maps 1 and 62 (Asia noviter delineata), map 31 loose and fore-edge lightly frayed as are a few lower edges of other maps, light spotting, browning and offsetting, heavy to the folding map and nine others, two maps very lightly creased.) Contemporary vellum, panelled in gilt (worn).

1645 issue of volume II of the French edition of the Blaeus' Novus Atlas, containing maps of Asia, Arabia and the Americas. The latter includes New England, Virginia, Brasil and the Straits of Magellan. 'This edition ... is a much more advanced one than the edition of 1638/1640. The text has been reset', Van der Krogt II, p.150 and 2:212.2H.
