LOTS 3004-3009 IMPORTANT PAINTINGS FROM THE YANAGIHARA COLLECTION This collection of paintings comes from a prominent Japanese collector Mr. Hanabusa Yanagihara. Mr. Yanagihara had a strong interest in Chinese arts and culture, and was doctor to artist Pu Jie, who dedicated his calligraphic work and gifted it to the collector (illustrated above). His collection also includes a pair of calligraphic works by Yi Xin and Shan Qi, Lot 2859, to be offered in our Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction on 28 May 2012.
