In 1963 the vendor won a competition held by the Scottish Daily Record to meet The Beatles on their tour. She met them at the Carlton in Kirkcaldy on 6th October 1963. The following day, the Daily Record published an article including a photograph of the vendor with The Beatles in their dressing room.
