Carved around the cylindrical sides with a boating scene along a river with overhanging cliffs, willow- and pine trees, two distant figures enjoying the scenery on a rocky outcrop, inscribed with the first line of a poem from the 'Red Cliff' by Su Shi (1036-1101), with spurious signature
