Children's Book Illustrations (Lots 82-90)
The Children's Book Council is the national nonprofit association for children's trade book publishers. They have sponsored Children's Book Week, a national celebration of books and reading since 1919 and the country's longest-running literacy initiative. Every year since 1919, the Children's Book Council has commissioned a renowned illustrator to create an original piece of art to be used as the official poster for Children's Book Week. The Children's Book Council has selected eight of these pieces to offer at auction. These original pieces (lots 82-89) are being sold to benefit Every Child a Reader, a 501(c)(3) organization which seeks to create a positive social impact in communities and instill a life-long love of reading in children.
