LE CORBUSIER (1887-1965). Poème de l'Angle droit. Paris: Tériade, 1955. 2° (423 x 325mm). 5 (of 19) lithographed plates in colour, illustrations, all leaves unbound as issued. (Some offsetting.) Original coloured wrappers, in the original chemise and slipcase (upper side of chemise detached).
NUMBER 85 OF 250 COPIES signed by Le Corbusier in a total edition of 270 copies. An incomplete set comprising just 5 of the bold colour lithographs. Tériade was one of a number who valued Le Corbusier as much as an artist as an architect. Together they planned a book, like Matisse's Jazz, which presented a harmony of large, round manuscript writing with illustrations bold both in form and colour.
