Letter signed to Thomas Sackville, Baron Buckhurst [later 1st Earl of Dorset], Lord High Treasurer of England, Whitehall, 20 January 1601/2, a warrant to pay to James Eveleigh coat and conduct money for two levies of 50 and 25 men from Oxfordshire who were embarked from Chester 'for the service of Ireland' in June 1599 and May 1600, the signatories including the recipient, Robert Cecil [later 1st Earl of Salisbury], Thomas Egerton [later 1st Viscount Brackley], Gilbert, 7th Earl of Shrewsbury, Edward, 4th Earl of Worcester, William Knollys [later 1st Earl of Banbury], Sir John Fortescue, Sir John Stanhope and Sir John Herbert, endorsed by Buckhurst with a note to Vincent Skinner, the exchequer auditor, 'Mr Skinner make an order', one page, folio, integral address leaf, docketed, seal tear, trace of seal (some soiling and staining, with minor loss of legibility).
