The photographs are a combination of views of the Cabinet War Rooms in activity during the war, and images of the empty rooms subsequently; George Rance is visible in a number of the shots. Sets of photographs produced for the first public visit to the C.W.R., by a group of journalists on 17 March 1948: a letter to Rance on the 22nd from B.P. Parker, Chief Information Officer at the Ministry of Works, thanks him for organising the visit and offers him a spare set.
