PRESENTATION BINDING of Italian straight-grained green morocco gilt with armorial crest of the King of Naples and Sicily on sides, gilt edges (light scuff marks, slightly discoloured). With author's autograph letter, dated Naples 28 April 1821, stating that he has already sent two unacknowledged copies of vol. I, and is now forwarding 2 copies of vol. II, one for Lord Eldon ('dalla fama gloriosa giunta fino a questo Cratere delle virtu' morali, e politiche') and one for the King. (3)
