(Minor marginal worming to 1.E3 and 1.G3, the latter with old paper repair, 2.A4 and 2.B2 more heavily wormed, occasional light stain affecting lower right-hand corner throughout, Tabvla Asiae II with tiny marginal stain, gatherings 3.A2 and 3.Aaa2 reinforced at gutter, 3.Bbb1 with small marginal old paper repair.) Later, possibly 18th-century, calf, gilt spine, speckled edges (extremities rubbed).

Many of the other maps that previously appeared in the 1561, 1562, 1564 and 1574 editions are here found reworked with the addition of new toponyms and figures of ships, fishes, etc. This is the second issue of this edition, the BL possessing a copy with a title dated 1598.
