Modelled with a lady seated on rockwork and leaning against a ruined column, resting her head against her right hand, with a letter on her lap and her left arm raised, Harelquin standing beside her wearing a cap, mask and ruff and with a slapstick tucked under his belt, holding an envelope behind his back, his right knee resting on rockwork, before a tree-stump on a rocky shaped circular base (his right foot and lower leg replaced, slapstick replaced, restoration to left hand, ruined column, one branch, minute chipping to applied bows on her dress and to edge of letter)
