Lot Essay

This panel appears to relate to Karl Christoph Pfyffer von Altishofen (1685-1768) who formed part of a Swiss deputation to the court of Louis XIV in the early 1660's. For a portrait of him and his wife Anna Maria Franziska von Sonnenberg (d. 1757) see lot 332 in this sale.
