SECOND HALF 18TH CENTURY
Decorated overall with chinoiserie, with a bevelled painted mirror plate, with two serpentine drawers underneath, the bottom with two longer drawers with escutcheons and handles, all the drawers fitted with shaped lacquered boxes

Lot Essay

This dressing mirror with its undulating form, stepped cabinet and mirror plate is tupical of work produced at the end of the 18th Century in Canton for the European and American markets. Related dressing mirrors are illustrated in C. Crossman, The China Trade, Suffolk, 1991, pp. 283-286
