Levels: top shoulder or better. One nicked capsule; three nicked labels. Mahler - Besse labels.
"The '89 Palmer is a blend of 52 Cabernet Sauvignon, 41 Merlot, with 6 Petit Verdot and 1 Cabernet Franc. On the nose the wine is opulent, with dark fruit character of plum and fig, although it is not overripe at all. There is a pleasantly rich note of tar and earth as well. On the palate the wine is tannic and rich, yet not heavy at all. This is from the earliest vintage ever at Palmer, and it is a wine of great potential. The wine only began to open several hours after the tasting at a very nice dinner at Brasserie Ruhlmann. At a Christie's Masterclass for Chateau Palmer, November 2010"
