"1998 was a great year, and VCC was up to the challenge. Although the wine is still a bit closed on the nose, it is a tremendously powerful wine, ripe and supple. With time it opened to show rich notes of plum and fig with a hint of the steely substance that underpins them. On the palate the wine has an ethereal, silken texture and a subtle yet impressively persistent finish." At a retrospective tasting in Houston hosted by Keith Williams. CC
