Lot Essay

Japanese Airlines gave 'Happi' coats to each of the Beatles. According to Beatles researcher Yasuhiro Honda, eight of these coats were specially made for The Beatles Tour. They are larger than the usual coats, one was made for each member of the group, and four for members of their entourage including photographer Robert Whitaker.
