FINEST & RAREST WINES FROM A EUROPEAN COLLECTOR
The following lots 433 to 545 are from a private European collector and includes Finest & Rarest wines from the most prestigious wine producers from around the globe. All the wines featured in this collection are not less than outstanding and highly sought-after and would be a very welcome addition to any collectors' cellar or restaurant's wine list. The sale represents a thinning out of the vendor's private collection which is demonstrated by many mixed lots of vintage verticals which offers collectors a rare opportunity to purchase small quantities of different vintages of their favourite Château.
The collection features an impressive selection from Bordeaux, the First Growths; Lafite Rothschild, Latour, Mouton Rothschild, Margaux & Haut-Brion, other Classed Growths and the very finest wines from Pomerol and St-Emilion including Pétrus, Cheval Blanc and Ausone. The sweet wines of Sauternes are featured including a selection of Château d'Yquem vintages. Also in the collection are outstanding wines from the Douro, Burgundy, Rhône, Alsace, Italy, California, Australia and a large section of the finest wines from Spain. Rare vintage Champagne completes the collection.
Lots 433 to 545 were inspected and packed by Christie's specialists and removed from a private cellar on the Continent and transported to EHD specifically for this sale. The wines had been kept in a temperature and humidity controlled private cellar. The loose bottles were packed into Christie's cartons from Eurocaves. You will notice in the condition reports that some bottles have capsules that are loose or have been removed, this is because the collector would check the cork branding on one bottle with delivery of each case in order to verify that the wine was authentic.

Wines offered in bond may be taken in bond or duty paid.
If you choose to take these lots in bond the hammer price will be payable in full. We will no longer deduct excise duty from the hammer price.
If you choose to take these lots duty paid, excise duty at the current rate and clearance VAT on the hammer price will be added to your invoice.
These charges cannot be cancelled or refunded by Christie’s.
