SONG DYNASTY (960-1279)

Compare the very similar jade openwork plaque depicting a dragon and scrolling clouds, in the collection of the China Cultural Heritage Information Center, Beijing, illustrated by Gu Fang (ed.) in Chinese Jades in Traditional Collections, vol. 2, Beijing, 2010, p. 226, where it is attributed to the Song dynasty. Another white jade plaque of Song date carved with a similar dragon and clouds is illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum - 41 - Jadeware (II), Hong Kong, 1995, p. 72, no. 62.
