Archaistic motifs similar to those found on this ring can be seen on one side of a quadrilobed pendant from the collection of Dr. Paul Singer, illustrated by J.C.Y. Watt in Chinese Jades from Han to Ch'ing, Asia Society, New York, 1980, p. 202, no. 198, where it is dated probably Song.
