A SUZHOU AGATE PENDANT
18TH/19TH CENTURY
Of rounded rectangular shape, the pendant is well carved on one side in high relief, utilizing the natural honey-brown markings in the stone, with two figures bearing gifts walking on a rocky path in front of a waterfall, and on the reverse with two fishermen in a sampan with furled sail which is highlighted by an opaque whitish area in the stone. Together with a silhouette agate pendant that is carved in low relief on the irregular side with the Hehe Erxian enticing a three-legged toad with a string of cash.
