A WELL-CARVED GREENISH-YELLOW AND BROWN JADE SNUFF BOTTLE
MASTER OF THE ROCKS SCHOOL, 1740-1850
The flattened, rounded bottle is well carved through the russet-brown skin on one side with a scene of a deer and crane standing beneath a pine tree in a rocky landscape. The reverse is of primarily greenish-yellow tone and carved with a dragon writhing amidst swirling clouds. The narrow sides are carved with horned animal masks suspending fixed rings.
2½ in. (6.3 cm.) high, coral stopper with bronze collar and cow horn spoon
