A VERY FINELY CARVED CAMEO AGATE SNUFF BOTTLE
OFFICIAL SCHOOL, 1750-1850
The well-hollowed, flattened ovoid bottle is finely carved on one side utilizing the dark brown and pale amber markings with a hawk perched on a rock below an overhanging pine bough that partially conceals the sun overhead. The reverse is carved with a tall rocky outcrop jutting from crashing waves from which emerges an orb.
