Lot Essay

At the base of this painting, printed on the reverse, is a stamp indicating that the paper used was made by Rongbao Zhai gallery in Beijing. Rongbao Zhai has long made high quality paper, and it is likely that Pu Ru, Pu Quan, and Pu Jin all obtained their materials at this shop. Also consistent is the exhibition catalogue note that these three paintings by members of the imperial family were painted together, as a set of four.
