SOUTHERN SONG DYNASTY (1127-1279)
The larger shallow bowl has widely flared, rounded sides, and is molded in the interior with a lotus spray in the center below six radiating panels enclosing different types of vases and flowers are a key-fret border, all under a glaze of pale aqua tone that is repeated on the exterior below the unglazed rim. The smaller bowl has straight, flaring sides that rise from the slightly concave, flat base, and is carved in the center of the interior with a stylized, leafy spray. It is covered overall with a pale acqua glaze that stops short of the unglazed rim.
