A RARE BLUE AND WHITE JARDINIERE
LATE MING DYNASTY, 16TH-17TH CENTURY
Thickly potted with somewhat bulbous sides that taper towards the base and are decorated with a continuous frieze of 'The Three Friends,' prunus, pine and bamboo, with birds in flight between. There is a band of classic scroll on the sides of the molded rim, and foliate sprays on the top.
