LATE 16TH CENTURY AND LATER
With double-edged blade back-edged and cut with a pair of fullers on each side towards the forte, the fullers respectively signed 'PACE PORTO' and 'KASSER ME FECIT' within a series of marks, the ricasso struck with a maker's mark on one side, iron half-basket guard with swelling flattened bars chiselled with foliage to the outside, swelling straight qullions each chiselled en suite and with small turned finial, inner guard of slender rounded bars, later spirally fluted wire-bound grip, and shaped pommel of hexagonal section chiselled en suite (some pitting throughout)
