A COMPOSITE DECORATIVE ETCHED CLOSE-HELMET
LATE 19TH CENTURY WITH POSSIBLE 17TH CENTURY ELEMENTS
Comprising two-piece skull with low roped comb and pierced with pairs of lining-rivets, pivoting visor, falling buff with keyhole-shaped breaths, lower bevor shaped to the chin, plume holder, and single gorget-plates, these last possibly 17th century and etched to match, the whole decorated with bands of etched scrollwork and flower-heads inhabited by various masks (small hole to right side of comb)
