SIGNED CREMONA, CIRCA 1840
With slightly swamped octagonal sighted barrel, engraved tang numbered '2', border and scroll engraved signed lock, well figured walnut half-stock with fluted butt, border and scroll engraved paktong mounts including butt-cap engraved 'PUNITION AUS INSULTES', and later bone ramrod; together with A CENTRAL ITALIAN 15-BORE PERCUSSION PISTOL, SIGNED ROSSI, LATE 18TH CENTURY, converted from miquelet, with shortened two-stage barrel, the octagonal breech-section with silver-inlaid scrollwork and struck with brass-lined cross (maker's stamp missing), signed border engraved lock, walnut full stock inlaid with silver wire scrollwork, carved with a band of foliage along the spine of the butt, and with panels of diamond-shaped chequering heightened with pins, and brass mounts
