A CENTRAL ITALIAN 25-BORE FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOL
THE LOCK SIGNED IGNAZIO FRA., MID-18TH CENTURY
With two-stage octagonal to polygonal barrel with pronounced turned muzzle, the breech-section signed 'LAZARI COMINAZ' and inlaid with three scroll engraved brass panels, repaired tang, signed flat bevelled lock inlaid with further brass panels engraved en suite, figured moulded walnut full stock, cast and chased brass mounts decorated in low relief with scrollwork and numerous classical busts, later brass-tipped ramrod (fore-end replaced, some wear throughout, iron parts with some surface corrosion marking, tang and rear ramrod-pipe repaired)
