A PAIR OF NEAPOLITAN 18-BORE SILVER-MOUNTED MIQUELET-LOCK BELT PISTOLS
SIGNED VIDALESIO, LATE 18TH CENTURY
With three-stage scroll engraved swamped barrels each struck on the octagonal breech-section with a maker's mark, the mark of Naples (Der Neue Støckel 814), and a series of fleur-de-lys, all lined in gold, scroll engraved tangs, signed engraved locks, moulded figured walnut three-quarter stocks, cast and chased silver mounts retaining traces of original gilding, the trigger-guards each decorated in low relief with a crowned coat of arms, iron belt-hooks, and horn-tipped ramrods (minor wear to mounts, some discolouration to iron parts, some old chips and minor repairs to stocks).
