A PAIR OF SPANISH 20-BORE SILVER-MOUNTED MIQUELET-LOCK BELT PISTOLS
LATE 18TH CENTURY
With two-stage swamped barrels each retaining traces of original blued finish, with turned girdle and struck on the octagonal breech-section with a series of gold-lined marks in immitation of Manuel Cams, engraved tangs, border and scroll engraved flat bevelled locks, figured walnut full stocks each carved in relief with foliage behind the barrel-tang, cast and chased silver mounts including spurred pommel with grotesque-mask cap, iron belt hooks, and original silver-tipped ramrods (very minor wear to silver, some discolouration to iron parts, minor marking to stocks, one mechanism defective, one steel replaced)
